A new perspective

Here is a taste of my writings:

A Passing Thought

Everyone has done this one time or another. You have will have passed them many times with little or no record of their very existence. Well my friend, regardless of your ignorance, they exist. They have seen you. They’ve see you when you mock them. They hear you when you laugh. Basically, to you, they are nothing more then a passing thought. I shall try to be candid with you. I share some of the same anxieties that you all possess whether you're aware of it or not. I now as much as the next fellow that no person on a daily basis plans to ignore or demean someone, yet it can still occur.

I will pass this information on to you, and as I always say: do with it what you will. Ignorance, as we've always heard, is bliss. My apology to whomever came up with this fond slogan or saying, but that person is terribly mistaking. Ignorance breeds one of three things: Indifference, Hate or Fear. Whomever I offend by writing this, please forgive me. I mean no harm.

Indifference is the same as not caring. Some people would phrase it as taking a backseat on the road of life; being uninvolved or disconnected. This is too common a practice today in almost everything. One prime example would be voting. Participation in presidential voting is limited due to ignorance, indifference, and laziness. Another example would be volunteer work. Everyone wants it done, but no one wants to do it! Yet another example would be ignoring someone who could use help such as a homeless person or family. Sadly, some people choose not to help because it would take too much time out of their busy schedule. Others assure themselves that someone else will help that individual. Still others persist that is not their problem. Some even pretend that said person does not exist! That my friend is a form of ignorance!

I would hope that hate is not the reason for this oversight. I'm almost willing to bet that hate is not the reason. I say this because it is hard to hate someone you’ve never met before. If hate is not the reason there is only one more left to choose from.

Fear can be a motivator and hindrance, it is a universal concept, everyone is afraid of something. Fear can come from the lack of knowledge. Fear can also develop from a misconception. Fear is a stagnant quality. Fear is very easily obtained, but it is very hard to rid yourself of it. Another thing to remember is fear can come in many forms. A person can be afraid of something and not realize it, or better yet be afraid and not know why they fear what they fear. The only problem is that staying in fear is the way of a coward.

Ignorance is a very easy quality to come by and is also very easy to understand because ignorance is a lack of understanding. If you’re wondering what the point is, friend, and the point is this: Do not take the easy road. Do not live in ignorance. Rise above it and be knowledgeable. Care about what is happening around you, because warranted or not the choices of today will form your tomorrow! Wake up-tomorrow is coming!
